English Shrub Rose Gertrude Jekyll
An excellent, repeating, English rose, bred by David Austin, Rosa Gertrude Jekyll is a medium-sized, vigorous, deciduous, shrub rose with a very upright, bushy habit. The divided foliage is mid-green. It’s one of the earliest English roses to flower, and does so almost continuously from June to September; scrolled buds open into beautiful, cupped, fully double, quartered, rich rose-pink blooms, with a gorgeous, very strong and pure Old Rose scent. With its upright habit, it is very good trained as a short climber or pillar rose, or for hedges. Healthy and reliable, English shrub rose Gertrude Jekyll holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit, and was named for the famous garden designer and plantswoman.
