Shrub Rose Maiden’s Blush
A very old Alba rose, dating to the 14th century, Rosa Maiden’s Blush is a medium-sized, deciduous shrub rose with a graceful habit. The divided leaves are pale grey-green, as is typical of Alba roses. Exquisite, richly fragrant, loosely double, soft creamy blush-pink flowers, 2 ½”/7cm across, are borne in midsummer; this lovely rose does not repeat. Like all Alba roses, Shrub rose Maiden’s Blush is hardy, disease-resistant, and tolerant of partial shade and poor soil, although it will do better in full sun and fertile soil. It makes a lovely addition to a border or a good specimen, and can also be used to make a flowering hedge.
