Rosa Mme Isaac Pereire – Shrub Rose
An old repeat-flowering Bourbon rose bred in 1841, Rosa Mme Isaac Pereire is a medium-sized, vigorous, deciduous shrub of open, arching habit with particularly good foliage. The blowsy, double, globular flowers are huge, up to 7”/18cm across, deep fuschia-pink, with the petals turning back attractively at the edges. The scent is strong and delicious, perhaps the best fragrance of all roses. It’s hardy and moderately disease-resistant, though sometimes prone to mildew. The stems of old shrub rose Mme Isaac Pereire may need some support, and it can be trained as a short climber or pillar rose.
